Echoes of the Nile

Gods, Rituals, and the Egyptian Universe

Fiorello H. LaGuardia Community College

Queens, NY · 2025

Exhibition Overview

Presented within a group exhibition examining Egyptian cosmology and ritual, Hathor reinterprets the goddess through chromatic symbolism. The composition studies myth not through literal narration, but through color as coded language—each hue selected to reference attributes associated with fertility, protection, music, divine femininity, and cosmic balance.

The work situates ancient mythology within a contemporary visual structure, using geometric framing and frontal symmetry to evoke reverence while maintaining painterly immediacy.

Casa de las Americas Mural

Fiorello H. LaGuardia Community College

Queens, NY

Exhibition Overview

Pasos was commissioned in homage to the Latinx LGBTQ+ community and their legislative milestones across Latin America. The mural translates legal breakthroughs into spatial metaphor. Mountains symbolize systemic and cultural obstacles; the darkened road carries painted cardboard footsteps representing nations that have enacted protective laws, arranged chronologically.

A wooden arch functions as both threshold and marker—acknowledging progress while leaving space for nations yet to formalize protection. Indigenous and regional florals anchor the composition in cultural specificity, transforming policy into landscape and resistance into procession.

Founder & Curator

Exhibition Overview

One Spirit, Many Voices is an independent curatorial platform founded by Angulo to create exhibition pathways for emerging multidisciplinary artists. The inaugural presentation brought together works rooted in culture, ancestry, and lived experience, emphasizing dialogue across medium and identity.

In addition to exhibiting her own work, Angulo directed artist selection, spatial arrangement, and exhibition framing—prioritizing curatorial clarity and accessibility while maintaining formal rigor.

The platform operates annually, with rotating artists and continued expansion.
