Meet the Artist

Daniela Angulo is a multidisciplinary artist working across sculptural mixed media, botanical preservation, and immersive installation. Rooted in Colombian heritage and shaped by life in New York, her practice examines memory, resilience, and the architecture of healing.

Her work treats botanicals as vessels of remembrance, resin as preservation and protection, and texture as emotional language. Each piece becomes a meditation on identity—what we inherit, what we carry, and what we transform.

Working intuitively yet with restraint, Angulo builds layered surfaces that feel both grounded and luminous. Each collection functions as a distinct inquiry—developed slowly, intentionally, and with reverence for process.

My Story

Raised between New York and Cali, Colombia, Daniela Angulo’s understanding of culture, resilience, and ritual was shaped by movement between two distinct yet interconnected contexts. This dual foundation informs her ongoing investigation into memory, protection, and the layered construction of identity.

Her return to formal art education marked a decisive shift—a commitment to building a life structured through artistic practice.

Color within her work is selected in response to memory, symbolism, and subject rather than a fixed palette. Gold appears recurrently—through spray, acrylic, wire, and forthcoming gold leaf—not as ornament, but as inheritance. Her father’s work as a jeweler established an early material familiarity; within her practice, gold functions as both cultural reference and structural element, signifying value, endurance, and reverence.

The work has evolved into sculptural surfaces, preserved botanicals, and investigations into protection, voice, and restoration.

Art functions not as decoration, but as structure. As inquiry. As intentional form.

Today, Daniela Angulo Studio operates as both an active creative practice and a curatorial platform, expanding her own body of work while establishing exhibition pathways for emerging artists through One Spirit, Many Voices.
